Work has been tough. I feel like I'm doing so well and then all of the sudden someone comes along and tears me down. I have been trying so hard to get a routine and just do everything I need to but somehow I keep forgetting things or it's not good enough. I honestly wish I could get some type of reassurance but I feel like it's never going to happen. My direct manager is younger then me and has everything handed to him. It's really frustrating for me to see someone who is younger, with no real education outside of high school, who was handed an easy department, and who has support the whole time he needed it. He tries to explain things to me and I end up just getting angry because nothing he says makes sense. Consumables is a whole different ball game and for him to explain things to me just gets me mad because he doesn't get it.
What frustrates me even more is the fact that I feel like I'm genuinely putting forth a good effort and I can't get a break. Finally people are starting to realize that my counterpart is an idiot that doesn't do anything and that I do a lot more then they think. I wish I could just let work stay at work and not take it personally but after having a tour on Tuesday, I don't think I will ever be able to not take things personally. My tour went horribly and it really hurt me. I tried so hard to understand what he was looking for out of my department and everytime I asked, I just got a death glare. He kept leaving the tour to take care of other stuff. I felt like a last priority. We are constantly told that we are like the store manager of our department. We are told to run our department like we would our own store. That's impossible. We have to adhere to CAP rules and to multiple other stupid rules so we don't really have the freedom or creative ability to run our department like we would if it was truly ours.
About 99% of my friends are from work. It feels stupid that I can't make friends outside of work but at the same time I don't really do anything to make friends. I guess it sucks because I feel like I do stuff at work that ruins my friendships and once those friendships are gone I have nothing. Honestly I thought I might have a really good friend at work but they kind of ruined my trust by telling David a bunch of stuff and pretty much just telling people things I didn't want people to know. I have other friends but this one seemed to be genuinely concerned and help me through things.
Now I have kept my dating profiles, which again, has proved itself to be useless. No one messages me or even views me. It's honestly just become a confidence killer. I check it all too frequently and I shouldn't. Around Thanksgiving I was talking to some people and I got this message from a girl. I responded and that's where things went South. I became confused because I actually started to care about this person. The only issue is that we became close. This girl became really close to me and I started to like her. On Christmas, she texted me to apologize for sleeping with her ex. I didn't know how truly hurt I was until I went back to work and started my routine again without her in it. It sucked. Now I feel like I'm not good enough for anyone. I'm not pretty enough or good enough. I know it's stupid but I just don't see myself finding anyone who will truly love me.
On a side note, I have become a lot depressed and have thought about things that I know I shouldn't be thinking about. I think it's just the weight of the world weighing on my shoulders but it seems so much more then that. I have tried just about everything to help my depression but as of right now I'm miserable and I hate it. I can't shake the feeling of just being a failure and just being useless. No matter what I do I can't figure out how to feel good about myself or to even just feel happy. I feel like I'm constantly hiding from everyone and I'm just letting them down no matter what I do.
